Although not tested in open water, we know many teams who are using the Pool Rescue manikin this way. Our Pool Rescue Parts kit includes two pairs of ‘socks’ which can be worn over the feet to help protect the manikin from abrasion on shorelines. Please note that dragging the manikin will lead to damage over time if you do not take action to protect it from abrasion.
Likewise, dragging your manikin on pool tiles or concrete can lead to abrasion and we always advise on a two-person lift if moving the manikin around the pool/deck area, or, in the case of the adult Pool Rescue Manikin, using the mesh carry sheet provided.
The kit also contains 2 x replacement plastic spines in case of accidental damage during use. It is important to replace the spine of the manikin if it is damaged to make sure it continues to perform at its best and to help prevent head ‘flopping’.
